THE WOMAN BEHIND ALIVE WITH LILIANE....

Thriving in the UNSTOPPABLE
THE WOMAN BEHIND the work
I wasn't always the woman who easily started conversations, stood on stages, or believed she had something meaningful to contribute.
For much of my younger life, I was shy, had few friends, and truly believed that I wasn't smart enough—or simply good enough. As a child who didn't know any better, I simply accepted those beliefs as truth. They became part of who I thought I was. They stayed with me well into adulthood, even as I became a wife, mother, nurse, and leader.
Yet beneath that uncertainty was someone who remained playful, hopeful, and deeply curious about people. That little girl was there all along, patiently waiting for me to notice her again. She simply became buried beneath beliefs and expectations she innocently picked up long before she had the wisdom to question them.
As you'll read below, it took many years—and a journey back to myself—to realize that the voice I was searching for had never been lost. It had simply been buried beneath roots that no longer served me.
THE ROOTS THAT SHAPED ME
I was born into a family whose roots stretched across France, Spain, and Russia, carrying stories of survival, sacrifice, resilience, and service.
Both my grandfather and father were members of the French Resistance during World War II. My grandfather lived through two world wars before ultimately dying in a concentration camp.
At just nineteen years old, my father helped Jewish families cross the border to safety. When authorities could not find him, they imprisoned members of his family until he turned himself in so they could be released. He was beaten in prison and eventually escaped by bartering his watch to a guard, fleeing half-naked and hiding in bushes in the cold.
Growing up, these stories were not simply history lessons. They were woven into our family's identity. Courage, perseverance, compassion, humanity, and doing what was right—even when it came at a personal cost—were simply part of life. These became some of the earliest seeds planted within me.
Another set of seeds quietly took root as well.
My mother was highly intellectual, as was my older brother. My father and I were repeatedly told that we simply weren't like them—that we weren't academics, that we weren't the smart ones.
Looking back, I can now see that I inherited two very different legacies: one rooted in resilience, service, courage, and humanity, and another rooted in comparison, labels, and self-doubt.
Together, they formed the seed from which many of my roots would eventually grow.
Mission Me
For years, I was the woman who held everything together.
The fixer. The caregiver. The strong one. The person others could count on.
From the outside, I looked capable. Inside, I was exhausted.
I had spent so many years growing from roots of obligation, proving, perfection, and responsibility that I could no longer hear my own voice beneath them.
Then came the moment I could no longer keep going the same way.
Not because everything around me changed.
Because something within me finally whispered, Enough.
I took a six-month sabbatical. I called it Mission Me.
For the first time, I gave myself permission to step away from the roles, expectations, and patterns I had been living from.
I began listening. Questioning. Healing. Choosing.
And slowly, I remembered who I had been beneath it all.
She had never disappeared. She had simply been waiting for me to come back.

"MY" BIGGER GAME
BEYOND 'ME' IS A BIGGER GAME
INNER JOY - I pause, reflect and make choices that honour me. My inner purpose is to be kind to myself and learn to love myself, without judgement, guilt or shame.
EXTERNAL IMPACT - My purpose is to demonstrate kindness and love toward others. To be curious about the roots that shaped them. To model what it looks like to be kinder to ourselves. Together, perhaps we awaken a little more humanity.
GLOBAL SHIFT - I don't believe I can create world peace. Yet I do believe that every time I choose kindness over judgment... Every time I love myself a little more... Every time I help someone remember who they are... I make small shifts within me, creating ripples beyond me.
Even if only by 2%, I am shifting the needle toward world peace.
And that, in turn, fills me with even more inner joy.
THAT is MY BIGGER GAME.
What's yours?
